Why are we doing this?

Why are we doing this?

In late June I will be join 3 friends to cycle from Tuktoyuktuk on the Arctic Ocean, to Prince Rupert on the Pacific Ocean and then to Halifax on the Atlantic. This epic Sea 2 Sea 2 Sea ride across Canada will take 65 days.

Our purpose is to raise awareness about the need for clean disease free drinking water. In fact, it is estimated that over 1 billion people on this planet do not have access to clean water.  As a result, every 90 seconds a child dies from a water related disease. This means 960 children die every day from preventable water related diseases. This is tragic!

We not only want to raise awareness, we want to give people a chance to do something really good. That something is to help us provide 65 villages in Africa with a drilled capped well to supply clean disease free water to the community. Our partner organization is Global Aid Network who have already drilled more than 2100 wells.

I know this 65 day, 10,000 km ride will be difficult. But I also know it would be much more difficult to see my children die because they do not have clear water.

I want to invite you to join us in helping to bring clean water to those is desperate need. Please check out our route. We would love to meet you along the way, speak to your friends, family, community group or local church group. You can help by giving us a place to park our support vehicle and stay overnight.

Our goal is to see a well provided every day we are on the road. I’m convinced there are 65 compassionate individuals or a group of people who will stand up and say, “I will take a well!  We will provide a well to save lives and transform a community.”

The English author, John Bunyan from the 1600’s said, “You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you.”

Join with me and my friends to give this gift of clean water to people who can give nothing to you in return.
