One of the most common question I get about cycling across Canada is, “What are you doing for training?” Good question!
Each week I’m doing a combination of swimming, core strengthening and cycling on a stationary trainer indoors. At this point, I cycle or swim 5 nights a week and do the core strengthening in the mornings 3 times a week. As soon as the weather warms up a bit and we see a little more day light hours I look forward to cycling outdoors! I will start cycling to and from the office which will be about 70 km (43 miles). I will also add a long ride of 100 km or more on the weekends plus continue a night of swimming and the core strength training. I’m trusting this will give me a good foundation for the challenge of riding day after day for almost 2 months this summer!
