Day 4

I’ve posted what we have been doing but tonight will start today with “How we are doing.” We have completed approximately 650 km, including  151 km today. All our bodies are feeling some minor soreness and some chaffing but over all we are doing well. The team is functioning well together. Jacquie is doing a great job as our support vehicle drive and a lot more. We are very tired at the end of  each day. We are eating lots. I don’t think I have ever eaten or drank so much in my life. Speaking of eating… We stopped for ice cream in Clearwater the owner of the “Clearwater Stop” said he had just heard about our ride on the radio. (Kamloop’s Radio) Then asked if we needed protein? When I said yes, he handed us two large homemade polish sausages.  So kind and encouraging. We stopped a gas station and the owner donated $20. MarcusEmotionally we have all been hit with the wonderful reality of what is happening. So encouraged by the commitment of everyone who is helping us along the way. This morning I took a quick look at my face book and tears came because of the wonderful response by so many people.

Our ride today felt “flat” after the really difficult 3rd day! Beautiful day, the temperature high was in the low 30’s ( 85 F) for part of the day.

4th Day RideWe are in a high plateau leading to the Rockies. We did have our first flat today and being the king of flat tires it was my tire. How many 60 year old cyclist dose it take to change a tire?tiresWe are being hosted tonight in Vavenby, a town of 400 people at the Vavenby Community Church. We had a wonderful potluck dinner with some wonderful people.
