Day 13: Terrace to Prince Rupert – 156 KM

Day 13: Terrace to Prince Rupert – 156 KM

No rain! Considering Prince Rupert gets 240 days of rain a year, we were delighted to wake up to sunshine in Terrace and head out.  Much of the ride was along the Skeena River with great views.

Another treat was our first guest cyclist. Martin, a school teacher in Terrace joined us for about 50 km. He provided some great information on the area and also about our route.  Also an encourage moment was when Ed approached Lyndon at one of our stops and said he saw an article in the local paper about our ride and gave Lyndon a donation.

We made it to the 90 km point before we hit head winds which slowed our progress. Gabe flew into Prince Rubert and was able to cycle out to join us as we approached the city, so good to have him rejoin us after returning to Ottawa for his mother in law’s funeral.

Dipping our tires in the Pacific was a significant milestone. The funny thing , we had a hard time finding a place to get to the water. We ended up going the boat launch.

We drove back to Terrace and has an amazing dinner provided by Heidi, a member to the Zion Baptist Church.
