Day 16: Fraser Lake to Prince George – 140 KM
Our day started with sun and nice wind at our backs! The level of traffic has increased especially logging trucks. We could even smell the fresh cut logs as they passed. This gave us a great appreciation of wide shoulders when we had them. Green rolling hills and lakes created a really scenic ride.
For the first time on this trip, we made our first coffee break at Tim Horton’s in Vanderhoof. This was a shorter day so we could linger and enjoy a Tim’s dark roast.
At another rest stop, a lady saw the support vehicle. She was curious and before leaving she handed the team $100. She, in fact, had donated and helped to raise funds for wells in the past.
Mike rejoined us today. He received a green light and was discharged from the Terrace Hospital this morning. He found a flight and met us in Prince George for dinner.
Speaking of dinner, we had a very tasty picnic provided by Mike’s friends, Bill and Rita which included corn on the cob! Our overnight host were Esther and Tapio, Timo’s brother and sister in law. So as you can see we got lots of warm hospitality in Prince George!
