Day 34: Winkler to Steinbach – 132 KM

Day 34: Winkler to Steinbach – 132 KM

Our day started with breakfast in Winkler with a local pastor, Mark.  As we were getting ready to start cycling, someone saw us, the support vehicle and handed us a $20. A nice start to the day!

The winds of adversity were gone today! We started in a misty rain but the head wind was gone. Such a relief! Our route was through amazing agricultural land, along and across the Red River.

The flat landscape and a gentle tail wind made the day almost feel like a day off. The sun broke through so the last hour of the ride was bathed in warm sunlight. The last time we saw our shadows was when we were riding into Moose Jaw four days ago.

Our hospitality in Steinbach is amazing.  Hosts, Sheldon and Julie, welcomed us and pointed us to their swimming pool for a refreshing dip.

Kevin and Lisa, from Lyndon’s clan provided a wonderful dinner and a dip in their hot tub. A great finish to an enjoyable day. Tomorrow is a day off.
