Day 11 – Home away from Home
I am overwhelmed by the hospitality that is shown to us by so many strangers. Carol made breakfast for us then drove us to church. Where we were warmly welcomed by Pastor Craig and his wonderful congregation. We spoke about GAiN’s “Water for Life” Initiative during the morning service.
Then Carol took us on a brief tour of the area just around their church used by cyclists in the summer and cross-country skiers in the winter. Near by we came across these little fellows and bought some ice cream.
After lunch and doing some of our cycling4water administration, Carol drove us out to their cottage where we finally meet Brian, who had been in Sudbury helping his son do some home renovation.
They treated us to a lovely BarBQ and boat ride.
Alain had a personal encounter with some of the local wildlife just before supper. This dock spider, the largest one I’d ever seen, actually bit him. Fortunately their was no allergic reaction.
We couldn’t have asked for a better day with more gracious people to relax on our day off of cycling. Tomorrow and 185 km will come soon enough.
