Day 44: Sault Saint Marie to Espanola – 242 KM

Day 44: Sault Saint Marie to Espanola – 242 KM

The morning sky was amazingly beautiful! But in this beautiful moment the line came to mind… “Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning.” It was true, before we were 20 km out of town the rain and gusty wind hit us. For the next 4 hours we were wet and battled a strong cross wind that was coming across Lake Heron.

Fortunately by lunch time, the rain was reduced to random showers but the wind continued. Most of the ride followed the shore line of Lake Heron but we did get a few glimpses of Lake Heron.  Our tag team system helped us cover the distance.

Our host is Espanola, Tim and Debbie provided a wonderful dinner. After dinner we had a presentation at the The Light House church with a very engaged group.  After we returned to Tim and Debbie’s home for homemade apple pie! A challenging day but a good day! Big thank you for Tim and Debbie.
