Day 12: Kitwanga to Terrace – 98 KM

Day 12: Kitwanga to Terrace – 98 KM

We started the morning with a short drive to the port and then a walk about in Stewart, population 400. Then set out on the drive to reconnect with our cycling route. Our drive took us past the impressive Bear Glacier.

Rob and Timo started cycling at about 2:00 pm from Kitwanga. Mike woke up sore and the doctor recommend taking at least one day off from cycling so he will not be cycling with Rob and Timo today. Check out this shot of Rob coming around the curve with a rainbow over his head.

The good news is that the route to Terrace is generally downhill but once again there is a head wind and intermittent rain.  Plus there was a large section of ground payment.

As soon as we began cycling on Hwy 16, we realized how fortune we were to have to have had so little traffic since Dawson City. We are being hosted by Zion Baptist for the weekend and parked in the pastor’s drive way. Tomorrow is a big day we go to Prince Rupert to dip our tires in the Pacific.
