Day 28: Swift Current – Rest Day

Day 28: Swift Current – Rest Day

Our day started with a delightful breakfast of homemade cinnamon buns, fruit, cheese and cereal. Our hosts Jim and Marilyn arranged opportunities for our team to make presentations at two churches. What an amazing reception we had at East Side Church of God and Community Baptist. The generous folks gave over $21,000!! Others indicated they would give online.  Amazing!

After church we were treated to lunch by a member of the local cycling club in the dining room at the local golf course. During lunch, Jay and his daughter, who we met at the morning church service, found us at the golf club with some cases of Gatorade, water and energy snacks. How kind is that?

After a very encouraging morning and a great lunch, we had the luxury of an afternoon nap! Over dinner we had opportunity to share a meal with a 97 year old gentleman who has engaged in water projects in Africa. Frank told us stories of how he came to faith in God and his legacy of trusting God in the different chapters of his life. What a great inspirational story and a great meal. What great day off with lots of encouragement and great food!
